Dr. Jade Starleaf
Founder
Dr. Jade Starleaf is a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Starleaf Psychological Services in Pasadena, California. She specializes in pediatric neurodevelopmental assessments and individual therapy for children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Starleaf holds a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, with a focus on child, family, and couple therapy.
Dr. Starleaf’s clinical expertise lies in treating Autism Spectrum Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), ADHD, and anxiety-related conditions. She provides both diagnostic evaluations and therapy, including social skills groups for children and parent support programs. Her practice integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). She is currently pursuing accreditation from the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
Her background includes clinical roles at Belmont Psychological Services, the Sterling Institute for Autism, Kaiser Permanente, and Pacific Clinics, where she worked with a wide range of populations in outpatient, community, and school-based settings. She is well-versed in psychodiagnostic tools such as the ADOS-2, WISC-V, MMPI-A, and many others. Dr. Starleaf has also contributed to professional conferences, research, and teaching, including as an adjunct professor in the PsyD program at her alma mater.
Committed to compassionate, culturally informed care, Dr. Starleaf is a member of the American Psychological Association, the California Psychological Association, and the Los Angeles County Psychological Association.
Dr. Andrea Berrios Vasquez
Post-Doctoral Fellow in Clinical Psychology
Dr. Andrea Berrios Vasquez is a bilingual clinical psychologist specializing in multicultural community-clinical psychology, with a strong dedication to serving Latinx and underserved populations. She earned her Doctor of Psychology degree from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, where she focused her dissertation on destigmatizing therapy and promoting healthy coping strategies within the Latinx community.
Dr. Berrios has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families across diverse clinical settings. Her training includes individual, group, and family therapy; psychological and psychoeducational evaluations; and trauma-informed interventions. She has completed APA-accredited training at the Child and Family Guidance Center and held positions in collegiate health centers, community clinics, and school-based settings. Fluent in Spanish, she is skilled in providing culturally competent care and has led therapy groups using evidence-based practices such as PCIT, TF-CBT, Seeking Safety, and MAP.
Dr. Berrios is also experienced in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and collaborative care models involving multidisciplinary teams. Her professional affiliations include the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Los Angeles County Psychological Association (LACPA).
Dr. Lashurn Ferrell
Licensed Clinical and Assessment Psychologist
Dr. LaShurn Ferrell is a licensed clinical psychologist with a versatile career spanning forensic assessment, corporate mental health, chronic pain treatment, and psychological testing. She earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and holds a BA in Clinical Psychology from Dominican University.
Dr. Ferrell’s practice emphasizes integrative, trauma-informed care across a wide range of populations and settings. She currently serves as a psychologist for Intellect Health’s global Trust & Safety Department, providing mental health support to employees at major corporations including TikTok, Shell, McDonald’s, and L’Oreal. She also conducts clinical and forensic assessments for organizations such as DeSantis & Associates, Kartta Group, and Alicia’s Place.
Her clinical expertise includes treating individuals with depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, eating disorders, and chronic pain. Dr. Ferrell has worked in correctional settings, psychiatric hospitals, pain clinics, and academic institutions. She brings deep experience in psychological testing, including cognitive, neuropsychological, and forensic evaluations. Her assessment toolkit includes the ADOS-2, WAIS-IV, MMPI, and more than 30 other diagnostic tools.
Dr. Ferrell is recognized for her culturally responsive approach and leadership in equity, diversity, and inclusion training. Her multidisciplinary work integrates psychology, medicine, and education to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.
Tayler Berez
Clinic Coordinator
Tayler Berez is the friendly face (and inbox!) behind the scenes at Starleaf Psychological Services. As the Clinic Coordinator, Tayler keeps things running smoothly—whether it’s scheduling sessions, organizing paperwork, answering questions, or making sure every client feels supported from the very first hello.
A proud psychology major, Tayler is passionate about mental health and especially interested in clinical work with children, adolescents, and families. As a neurodivergent adult living with ADHD and OCD, Tayler brings personal insight and deep empathy to their role—especially when it comes to supporting clients who may also experience the world a little differently.
Working at Starleaf offers them a front-row seat to the clinical world she hopes to join one day as a mental health professional.
Tayler brings a thoughtful, calm, and compassionate vibe to the practice—and a healthy dose of humor when things get busy. She thrives on creating order from chaos and is always happy to help clients and clinicians navigate whatever comes her way.
When she is not coordinating care or geeking out over psych theories, you can find Tayler exploring LA, hanging out in nature, bonding with animals, or playing music.
